MENTORS

CARI POUCHNIK

Cari is the new engineering teacher at Buckingham, and before that she worked as a scuba instructor and was a semi-professional marine photographer. Even before that she worked as a paramedic and paramedic instructor. She is now the robotics class instructor.

CARRIE RAUSCH

Carrie is new to the mentor role for our team this year. she is the chemistry teacher at Buckingham Charter High School as well as a robotics team parent. She has spent the last 4 years on the fringes of the group helping in small roles but as our head mentor moved on to another school she stepped into the role of full time advisor for the club.

STEPHANIE PAGE

Stephanie found her way into mentorship when her son, Arthur Page, decided to start a robotics club.  Born the youngest of seven, she knows how to keep all of the students in line.  Several years ago, Stephanie decided to teach Biology and other science classes at Buckingham.  Her husband, Mel Page, has also mentored the electrical team and works for United Airlines.

MARK BAIDES

Mark has been with us the longest out of all our parent mentors.  When he isn't spending all of his free time with the fabrication team, he manages a Habitat for Humanity crew and helps people all over California that are in need.  Mark's son, Jacob Baides, used to be our team's electrical lead and plans on graduating early.

BRENDAN O'BRA

Brendan is currently a Team 5496 software and programming mentor.  He has a degree from CS-US in Computer Science and has been writing commercial software for about 23 years, which has afforded him the privilege of working in a variety of problem domains, including blood transfusion, credit card processing, network management, and, most recently, cloud scaling and management.  Brendan has worked in Delphi, C/C++, .Net, Python and Java, and currently codes in Scala.  When he's not working, mentoring robotics and playing with one of his many technology side projects, Brendan enjoys riding both street and dirt motorcycles and camping with his family.

LISA LELAND

Lisa is a licensed attorney who practiced law in New Jersey before moving to California.  Her early work included trial and appellate work, and several years as municipal court judge in New Jersey.  After leaving litigation and the bench, her work with government included overseeing public relations for several government entities.  In 2012, Lisa and her family moved to Fairfield, California.  Her son, Andrew Fogel is the Buckingham RoboKnights Project Manager who hopes to be an engineer.  Her daughter, Caroline is a 2015 Buckingham graduate who now attends Saint Mary's College in Moraga, where she majors in mathematics.
