VEX PROGRAM

YEAR ONE

Our first year competing in the VEX Competitions was a strong one. We went to the regional competition at Vanden High School in December, with two teams of three people each. Both teams made it to playoffs, one as the eighth place team and the other as part of the alliance that went on to win first place. Over the next few months, our winning team modified their robot to improve it for the state championships in San Jose in March. At the state championships, our team ranked in the top ten for most points scored.

YEAR TWO

In our second year, our VEX program expanded from two competing teams to eight. Everyone finished their robots within enough time to practice using them, and all of the robots worked the way they were supposed to. At the Vanden regional competition, two out of our eight teams made it to playoffs.

YEAR THREE

In our third year with the VEX program, we welcomed freshman to our team and saw some returning sophomores.  We had multiple teams finish their robots on time, practice before competition, and compete in qualification matches.  Most of these freshman and sophomores moved on to FIRST after the VEX season ended.
